About Me
Thomas Carper and his father, Tommy, own and operate Carper Cattle Company based in Shenandoah Valley. They generate income through a stocker back-grounding division which retains ownership through slaughter and a cow-calf division which strives to market over thirty percent as steers and heifers to be exhibited as show cattle. Thomas also assists numerous ranchers, breeders, and junior exhibitors abroad in the merchandising of their livestock as an auctioneer or herd consultant.
Thomas obtained his bachelor science degree in business and agri-marketing from Virginia Tech in 2002. He was a member of both 4-H and collegiate livestock judging teams and has evaluated cattle all over the United States.
At the age of twenty Thomas obtained his degree in auctioneering for The Missouri Auction School. Carper has conducted auctions across the U.S., specializing in purebred cattle. Thomas also works in association with Coleman Sales Inc. a Virginia based management firm that focuses on agricultural real estate and farm liquidation. During his career as an auctioneer Thomas has not only marketed cattle, but horses, swine, machinery, and recently boar goats. Thomas's passion and professionalism has allowed him to become a self-employed auctioneer with a vast client base spanning across the United States.
